Trove Table Talk: 2019 Market Trends
Every year, we have the opportunity to refresh our senses by traveling to High Point, North Carolina for the furniture market. We love getting inspired by the swirl of fresh ideas and adventurous new designs! We take this opportunity to bring trendy styles into the store while still staying true to the eclectic Trove style you know and love.
There were a few trends at market that really stood out to me this year and resonated with what we have been feeling inspired by here at Trove. Follow along for tips on how to incorporate these fresh looks into your home!
Brass and Gold Tone Accents
Brass and gold tones in fixtures, accents, and accessories has to be one of my favorite trends. It has been building over the last few years and recently seems to have hit its stride. These shimmering tones really pop against deep shades of blue but are versatile enough to be matched with a variety of decor styles. We love this look because it simultaneously feels timeless and on trend. It pairs beautifully with a bright, clean aesthetic or rich, deep hues!
Velvet Fabrics
Another trend we fell hard for is the use of velvet fabric in every room. This multipurpose, durable material lends an air of comfort and sophistication to any room. At market, we saw velvet fabrics featured on everything from luxe headboards, cozy daybeds, bold statement sofas, and dining room accents.
Rustic and Handmade
If you've visited Trove, you know we love that easy-living vibe that rustic, handmade furniture brings to a home. This trend is still going strong and we don't see it going anywhere soon! We love bringing one-of-a-kind pieces into the store. It's so fun to take home a piece with character and history and know that you're the only one with it! One of our good friends Davis Rogers Interiors played off a crisp detailed fireplace by adding the rustic accents like ladder bookshelves and unique accessories.
Vintage Rugs
As you may have seen on our Instagram and our online shop, Trove Editions, we have been pretty obsessed with vintage rugs lately! At market we had the opportunity, once again, to work with one of our favorite vendors who personally travels the world to find these amazing pieces. They can simply go in any room! We especially love the trend of bringing these handmade vintage beauties into kitchens and bathrooms for an unexpected pop of color and coziness.
