Spring Market Recap

Last week Breane, Cindy, Tony and myself (Lauren, Hi!) hopped in the car for a sunny 6 hour car ride down to High Point, NC for their spring Furniture & Home Decor Market.  We went with a long list of things to find but more importantly were longing to become inspired by new items, trends, colors, and details.

After our 5 day shopping trip one thing was clear; The theme is GREEN!  From fabrics to rugs to the fresh floral arrangements, green tones accented every showroom we went in to! The color trend is coming in strong and we are here for it.

Adding live or faux greenery to your home is one easy way to bring this cozy color of nature indoors. Green is naturally a calming tone and the color works perfectly with warm neutrals and woven textures. A great local spot to visit for plants is our friends over at Greendigs in Grandview. Starting with an easy to care for succulent, or working your way up to a larger indoor tree, each and every plant you add will bring renewed life to your space.

Simple ways to incorporate this trend into your space are by adding pops of the color in throw pillows or blankets on your favorite lounge piece. A bold coffee table book with a vase of fresh greenery atop it could be just the finishing touch your room needs.  We see a large variety of green colors out there, but this trip the ones that most caught our eye were the shades of olive, grass, moss and sage.

If you're ready to make a big change, we have lots of gorgeous fabric swatches at both stores that can inspire you to choose your favorite shade to cover your new sofa or chair. Don't shy away from big and bold color choices; we saw how green can easily be a grounding neutral in any space.  A rug will ground your living space which can help you create a design from the floor up. A fun temporary change that we love using on our own store walls is to go dark and moody with painting walls a shade of green. (Check out how we used Sherwin Williams Jasper at our Upper Arlington store most recently!)

This trip was so inspiring seeing how color can be brought back into monochromatic living spaces. We definitely didn't hold back from bold and colorful this trip, and our stores will soon reflect that in the coming months. Make sure to check out what we have on order, and even shop before the items arrive with our Coming Soon category of the website. Cheers to spring and all things green!!
