Chapter 3: P16
A Modern Home with Cohesive Design
As open floor plans continue to rise in popularity, mastering cohesive home design has never been more important. This stunning Donley Homes showcase was designed in collaboration with a talented local interior designer and friend of Trove, Susan Campbell. Each setting individually incorporates eye-catching accents without disrupting the overall flow of the space. Soft neutral shades of grey intermixed with warm pops of color create an inviting atmosphere, allowing guests to comfortably travel from room to room.
As you enter the home, you’re immediately greeted by the natural warmth of the Root coffee table. The Darcy sofa beautifully contrasts the rich teakwood table in a subtle heathered gray fabric. A velvety red throw pillow and the pinstripe fabric on the Muse club chairs add a hint of playful personality to this setting.
A clean, mid-century inspired writing desk flanks two inky-black wicker chairs. Susan kept this office space simple yet sophisticated, creating a welcoming space for creative minds to wander.
Touches of greenery and cool undertones breathe new life into the modern, white kitchen design. The traditional round shape of the Millson dining table is brought up to date with a smoky black finish. The dining space is finished off with the Grant dining chairs arranged around the table in a soothing stone gray fabric.
In the master bedroom, the Loft queen bed takes center stage. Choosing neutral shades for upholstery and bedding leaves room to play around with pillows and accessories. Introducing a playful pattern or adding shimmering gold accents elevates the space. The Jules chair sits snugly in the corner, adding a brilliant pop of color in deep teal. A modern oak finish on the Auguste dresser is contrasted with antique brass pulls.
Our tour concludes with the upstairs bedroom. This secluded sanctuary features a luxurious upholstered bed and a set of cozy club chairs. The bed is flanked by two marble-topped Lark nightstands. Shades of dusty pink and purple invite a feminine touch into the setting and help soften the neutral tones.
When it comes to home design, our goal has always been to marry beauty and functionality. Successful design isn’t just about creating a gorgeous space, it’s about creating a place you’re excited to come home to every day.
