Trove On The Go: A Custom Home with Classic Charm
A fresh new-build with crisp white walls is a blank slate waiting for its homey charm. When this customer walked into Trove after purchasing her house in Grandview, OH, she had a project ready for endless design possibilities. We matched her with one of our talented Trove On The Go designers and together they created a bright, airy space with tons of custom detailing. The customer's style has hints of traditional french country and she worked with her designer to select pieces in fun fabrics to keep it fresh. The Maven wingback chairs are upholstered in a custom blue paisley and are available to order at Trove in lots of different fabric options! They paired them with the Ramsey pedestal table to create a classic feminine sitting space.
This home has an open, but narrow floor plan with lots of large windows which presented some layout challenges. The customer and their designer got creative with life-sized furniture templates to try out different configurations until they found the perfect arrangement.
They moved the dining table to the front of the house, creating a sense of privacy and freeing up space for the family room. To help delineate the areas they had an amazing two-sided cabinet custom designed and built that mirrors the architecture throughout the home and creates display and storage options.
The color palette for the entire home was inspired by this watercolor painting that cascades from a bright sea foam to a deep cerulean blue. The Brody sectional anchors the room with patterned pillows to pull in the accent shades and a collection of contrasting, but complementary nickel side tables bring in a modern element.
Each piece in the living room was carefully selected to create an eclectic, yet cohesive setting. The Brooke chair features delicate English arms wrapped in a lightly patterned fabric with turned graphite legs to complement the flooring throughout the home. They chose the Highland accent chair for its modern, tailored feel and grounded it with the marbled black stone Mina coffee table (that scalloped detailing is everything!).
The homeowner and their designer created a statement with the kitchen island by adding custom panel molding that they painted in Oxford Grey by Benjamin Moore. Quartz countertops and Carrera marble subway tile add texture to complement the snowy white cabinetry.
