Chapter 1: P12

Creating a Space to Gather Beyond the Thanksgiving Table

Whether you enjoy Thanksgiving dinner at a quiet table for two or set up every seat in the house with a full spread for the entire family, there's nothing like a little festive decor during the holidays! The turkey (or maybe the pie) usually steals the show, but why not give the bird a run for its money this year?

Start with a neutral runner or tablecloth and set the stage for your accessories to shine. We used some of our white dipped ceramic candlesticks to add height and weaved in autumn floral sprigs for texture. If you're hosting a crowd, a dining bench is an ideal seating option and creates a space where everyone can cozy up and share stories. The tailored upholstery of the classic Brynlee chairs pairs perfectly with rustic natural wood grain for contrast.

Carefully blown glass bubbles on the Balthazar oval chandelier reflect a flickering glow throughout the room to create the perfect relaxing atmosphere for Thanksgiving dinner.

When it comes to setting the table, use what you have and don't be afraid to mix it up a bit! Bring out your fanciest china or dress up your every day dinner plates with patterned appetizer plates and fun chargers. Linen napkins are timeless and an easy way to incorporate an accent color to your table. Finish the centerpiece with some bittersweet autumn berries and straw pumpkins for festive dimension.

Once your table is set and ready to go, don't forget to add a little harvest decor to the other areas of your room as well!

The dining room sideboard is a perfect spot to showcase your fall decor along with bubbly holiday cocktails or a fresh after-dinner pie. We love these hand blown glass jars dipped in copper or gold to bring simple elegance and a touch of shine.

Seasonal decor is a simple way to make your family and friends feel at home during holiday meals and creates the perfect complement for your yummy recipes. If you're looking for a sweet treat to finish off your Thanksgiving table, try this amazing roasted maple apple pie. Happy entertaining!
